Nina listens to a great deal of music and writes a great deal of words. Sometimes these overlap. She was raised on the gravelly poetics of post-Soviet rock ‘n roll and grew up in New York as a veteran of sweltering Siren Festivals and getting kicked in the head by crowdsurfers.
Nina has a degree in (photo)journalism and international relations from Boston University. She is currently a Boston-based freelancer who has contributed to The Phoenix, The Quad, Matador Network, Patch.com, and Baeble Music. If she could spend a night whiskey-drinking with Craig Finn, John Darnielle, Isaac Brock, and Spencer Krug, and then gypsy waltzing with Eugene Hutz, that would be pretty rad.
Current obsessions: rootsy Americana folk, woozy electronica, fuzzed out garage punk.
Constant love: melancholy singer-songwriters with brilliant lyrics, things to mosh to, things to dance to, innovation.
Play it like you mean it.
